Gośka Isphording (PL/NL) is a renowned harpsichordist, acclaimed for her dedication to contemporary and experimental music. Based in the Netherlands, she actively promotes Polish compositions worldwide. With a deep commitment to expanding the harpsichord repertoire, she collaborates closely with composers to push the instrument’s sonic boundaries.
Nearly 200 solo and chamber works have been written for her, including five concertos bycomposers such as Hanna Kulenty, Roderik de Man, Andrzej Kwieciński, Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, and Evan Johnson. As a soloist, she has performed at major contemporary music festivals, including the Warsaw Autumn Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Holland Festival, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, and November Music. From 2011 to 2015, she served as artistic director of the Prix Annelie de Man, an international festival and competition for harpsichordists and composers in Amsterdam.
Isphording collaborates with leading ensembles such as Asko | Schönberg, United Instruments of Lucilin, and Insomnio Ensemble, and is a member of the Riot Ensemble in London. She holds a Doctorate in Arts and teaches modern harpsichord at the Amsterdam University of the Arts, having refined her contemporary skills under Elisabeth Chojnacka and Annelie de Man.
Through her artistic vision and development of new repertoire, she continues to redefine the possibilities of the harpsichord in the 21st century, ensuring the instrument remains a dynamic and relevant voice in contemporary music.
