Born in Valencia, Darío Cervera earned a Master’s degree cum laude in piano in 2019 from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, and graduated in 2025 with a Master’s degree with highest honors unanimously awarded from the CNSMD de Paris, in the harpsichord and basso continuo classes of Olivier Baumont and Blandine Rannou.
He has received instruction and taken part in masterclasses with Ton Koopman, Pierre Hantaï, Mahan Esfahani, Raphaël Pichon, Skip Sempé, Bertrand Cuiller, among others. He was awarded an Extraordinary Prize in harpsichord (Conservatorio Superior de Música de Valencia, 2023) and was a finalist at the 10th Early Music Competition of Gijón (2021). He is also a laureate of Campus France Excellence Europa, the Fondation de France, and the Fondation Royaumont.
He has taken part in orchestral productions under the direction of Ton Koopman, Sébastien Daucé, Lionel Meunier, and Fabio Biondi. As a soloist, he has given recitals at the Centre Arvo Pärt (Estonia), in Helsinki, Valencia, and Paris, and has been praised for his “precise touch” and “masterful ornamentation” (Jean-Christophe Pucek, Diapason). He is also co-founder of the ensemble Quiebros, laureate of the Fonds Nguyen Thien Dao and in residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac, with which he has introduced Parisian audiences to the Spanish Baroque vocal repertoire (Petit Palais, Archives Nationales; 2024).
His first CD, Un Tombeau pour Ravel, was released in March 2025 on the Passacaille label. It was named “Disco Excepcional” by the Spanish magazine Scherzo, “Disque du jour” on the program En Pistes ! on Radio France, and received a warm critical reception: “An intelligent and sensitive debut album […] compared to so many overly artificial recitals that constantly appear, a little gem.” (Yves Riesel). This program was presented live on the broadcast Générations France Musique and in concert at the Fundación Juan March (Madrid).
